The coaches

Three coaches run the floor at Crofty. Between them: a decade and more of club coaching, an unbeaten professional heavyweight, and a man who ran the entire coastline of Wales for charity. All of them take sessions here.

June 2026

Ewan’s run around Wales

In June 2026 Ewan Rees set out to run the entire border and coastline of Wales. Around 15 miles a day, for two months, with roughly 100,000 feet of climbing in it. He did it for The Brain Tumour Charity, in memory of his grandfather, who died in 2020.

David John, the club’s head coach, cycled alongside him. David is 60. The original target was £1,000. It was doubled inside a fortnight.
